Legacy Soccer
New for the 2026–27 Season
In alignment with U.S. Youth Soccer and WYSA, Legacy Sports Soccer will return to seasonal-year age group placement beginning with the 2026–27 season.
All players must register and attend tryouts within their designated seasonal-year age group.
Placement decisions for players seeking to play up an age group will be reserved for those who demonstrate exceptional readiness, based on:
- On-field performance
- Physical development
- Long-term player development considerations
- Current coach recommendations
This approach ensures roster decisions are fair, consistent, and focused on what is best for each athlete’s growth and development.

Academy Soccer is the first competitive tier above recreational play. It’s designed to help players ( U7-U10) develop core skills and soccer understanding in a structured league environment.
Legacy’s philosophy emphasizes skill growth, teamwork, healthy competition, and enjoyment of the game — ensuring players develop physically and socially through sports.
Core Expectations for Players
Commitment to Attendance
Players are expected to attend 1–2 training sessions per week and games during the season (Fall & Spring).
Consistent practice attendance is important for skill progress.
Seasonal Play Structure
Fall and spring include 6–10 league games total plus at least one tournament.
Training schedules and game days are set by the coach and communicated to families.
Effort & Development Focus
The emphasis is on learning fundamental soccer skills (passing, dribbling, teamwork) and having fun — not just winning.
Players should come ready to engage, ask questions, and want to improve.
Coach Communication
Coaches typically expect timely responses from families for scheduling and availability.
Families should use team communication tools (e.g., apps or email) for updates.
Respect & Teamwork
Respect for teammates, coaches, opponents, and referees is expected on and off the field.
Positive behavior and sportsmanship make the experience enjoyable for everyone.

LEGACY SELECT SOCCER
Select Soccer is Legacy’s highest level of competitive play, designed for players who demonstrate strong ability, commitment, and a desire to develop at a higher level of the game.
Select teams compete in more competitive leagues and tournaments while continuing to emphasize technical development, teamwork, and a love for the game. Legacy’s philosophy focuses on developing players both on and off the field, helping them grow as athletes, teammates, and individuals.
Core Expectations for Players
Commitment to Attendance
Players are expected to attend 2–3 training sessions per week along with all scheduled games and tournaments.
Consistent attendance is critical at the Select level, as practices build tactical understanding, team chemistry, and individual skill development.
Players should communicate with their coach if they will miss a training session or game.
Competitive Seasonal Structure
Select teams compete in Fall and Spring league seasons, typically playing 8–10 league matches per season.
Teams will also participate in multiple tournaments throughout the year, which may include both local and travel events.
Training schedules, game times, and tournament details are set by the coach and communicated to families well in advance.
High Effort & Development Mindset
Select players are expected to train with focus, effort, and a willingness to improve.

SELECT SOCCER
At Legacy Soccer Club, we offer a select/club level program meticulously crafted to elevate players’ soccer skills and overall athletic growth. Each team is led by experienced coaches ensuring top-notch guidance and instruction. Our club cultivates a better every day mantra where players work to grow mentally and physically through the trials and tribulations of sports.
Proudly affiliated with the Wisconsin Youth Soccer Association (WYSA), Legacy Soccer Club competes in esteemed competitions such as the Southeast Classic League, providing a platform for our players to thrive competitively.
